In order to forestall market rumour, I am issuing the following statement:

“It has come to my attention that the previous owners of our magazines, Ms Gisella Wiley and Mr Geoffrey Hall, in conjunction with the leading Wolverhampton jeweller J J Rudell, appear to have defrauded Rolex UK over many years.

“Upon discovering evidence of this last week, I immediately notified the Police and Rolex UK. Investigations are in progress.

“These matters are historic. The fraudulent arrangement was put into effect many years before my purchase of the magazines. No one who has worked on the magazines since I purchased them had any involvement in it. It is only last week that we recognised what had occurred and we acted upon it immediately.

“As a consequence of the ongoing investigations, readers will understand that I cannot provide further details at this stage.”
